Subject: [Avid-L2] Media Composer audio options
Sorry if this has been covered before... what kind of kit do people use with
their Avids? Specifically audio outputs and scratch mic inputs (we have a
mixture of Mojo SDIs and Mojo DXs)
I've worked in a few post facilities now and they had one of two options -
either a cheap domestic hifi amplifier or a complicated 8 track mixer like
the Soundcraft EPM8.
Our FCP systems have a neat little mixer (a Samson C-Control) and a USB mic
but in my opinion even that is overkill (we only use 25% of it's features).
There must be something better.
All we need is something to control the stereo audio levels and a preamp for
the mono mic input. Does such a device exist? Or do people use USB with
their Avid's (most editors I know use the capture tool for recording VO
rather than the Punch-In tool).
Does anyone have an elegant solution?
