So then your post is obviously aimed at me.
Alright then, let me restate some salient facts:
1. I started this thread by saying that I was "thinking out loud" about the timing of MC v.6 development -- relative to the impending release of W8.
2. I indicated that I was "not advocating a mass conversion to an untested OS -- especially one that represents a such a big departure from the past".
3. I sympathized with Avid's "tough position" of possibly having to expend significant additional resources -- so shortly after porting the application to W7/64bit.
4. And I wondered out loud if that significant effort might cause users to be stuck on W7 for an extended amount of time.
- I don't care whether or not MC v.6 runs on W8.
- I don't play games.
- And I don't need to be told that I "have an editing system".
This is a forum. And the subject of this forum thread is simply, and quite obviously, limited to the relative timing and challenges of these two parallel development efforts.
Save your "cutting-edge gaming platform" insults for someone else.
