I'm not sure how EditShare handles filesharing. On Unity and Terrablock, you end up with individual workstation folders within the Avid media folder structure. Only the assigned workstation can rebuild the media database for it's particular folder. So you could change the media files in a folder of a workstation that is offline, and the media database won't be rebuilt to represent those changes.
