I have a customer who upgraded from 5 to 5.5.3 on the Mac and is
encountering the following:
"I am also still getting the "Error # - 5000 while verifying your
authorization" when Media Composer tries to initialize audio plugins on
start up. I've found some threads in Avid's support forum, but I have not
seen a solution that works with MC 5.5.3 - although there is one that
apparently works for previous versions, according to a couple of the
threads. I am not the only one getting this error message and looking for
help, based on what I've found in the forums, as there are no audio plugins
in the folder listed in the fix for a previous software version. Basically,
I have to click OK about 20 times to get through the audio initialization
process and it usually works. Occasionally, I will get bus thread errors and
have to restart the computer. MC has also crashed several times during
editing with bus thread errors, but usually works after restarting the
computer. And, for the first time tonight, MC crashed with a "Mac Error - 50
(error in user parameter list), which I haven't been able to find any
helpful information on in the past 10 minutes."
Anyone else seeing this? I'm going to try to clean it up tomorrow with an
uninstall/reinstall. Any other ideas?
