[Avid-L2] Re: Don't get burned on digital cut tip. Sony deck aborts edit but Avid marches on.

 

Well I think I found a potential solution. On my DVW-A500 Sony with the more advanced front panel with the setup VTR menu there is menu item A318: Auto Retry. I found that on and set it to off. I bet there are similar menu settings on the other Sony decks. I'll confirm with Sony later today but that sure seems like it would stop the recue and reedit behavior. Surprised I never thought to look for that before. Funny how asking a question often sparks an answer even from the person asking the question. Another example of, "The only stupid question is the one you don't ask."
