I had an AJA Kona 3 card installed. Then I switched to the BlackMagic HD Extreme card to be able to run Resolve 8.
I noticed that the BMD card was not allowing me to send illegal video levels. I was taking an HD-SDI straight out to a Tektronix WFM5200. No matter how hard I pushed the video it clipped at 100IRE and 0 IRE and never exceeded any of the gamut displays.
So I switched to the AJA Kona 3 card and got the same thing. I ran AJA's Conflict Catcher and AJA Uninstaller and rebooted. I've tried sending video out through Apple Color and FCP and AE and Premiere (Though I couldn't figure the output settings to even get video out of the AJA card from the Adobe products. I even tried "AJA TV." FCP and Apple both refuse to send out illegal colors/levels. I've tried new projects. I've imported new footage.
Can anyone think of a reason why I can't create illegal colors? (Color has "Broadcast Safe" unchecked.)
Is there an AJA setting that could limit it? I can't find one.
I'm trying another install/reinstall of the AJA drivers...
