[Avid-L2] Re: OT: Making up zooms in post WHY Boneheads shouldn't edit

I'm firmly convinced cameramen still shoot zooms they just take much too much time in a non linear offline to find. I guess I had it much easier shuttling tape finding zooms? I know I use to have the best camera work when I did Eye On LA back in the mid 80's. Those crews were the best I've ever worked with and now most of them own their own camera companies and are doing very well. Hmmmmmm Maybe there is a downside to sending the PAs out to shoot the B and C cameras? Naa what was I thinking the been counters love that not the editors.

Especially in overly compressed SD footage that's ringing already adding the oh so creative push in turns bad pixels into well a , um, ah, WORSE than bad pixels. For those that like to add pushes carry on and just hope I'm not doing you online because , "If it doesn't absolutely, positively have to have a zoom added I'm going to rip the effect off after saving it to my special Bonehead Bin and then I'm going to print out the bin and stomp on the paper before marching it into your offline bay to tear it up right in your face. You know some times I do let them go through but today was not that day. Counting to ten and calling my sponsor now. Maybe it's time for a little anger management refresher. ;-)
