RE: [Avid-L2] Weird bug: playback stutters when second computer monitor powered off

You might try changing the input if it will let you. As I found recently,
displays and their resolution can dramatically affect system performance.

Subject: [Avid-L2] Weird bug: playback stutters when second computer monitor
powered off

Here's a weird one...

I'm working with a 2-monitor setup, without an external broadcast
monitor. Monitor 1 is used for timeline/source-rec windows, monitor 2
for bins and full-screen playback.

Sometimes when I'm screening, people find the 1st monitor distracting,
so I turn it off using its front-panel power button. When I do that, my
full-screen playback on the other monitor starts to stutter. If I turn
the 1st monitor back on, the full-screen playback becomes smooth again.

Does this make sense to anyone? Does turning off a monitor interfere
with the graphics card somehow? Any workarounds?

Thanks,
--Michael
