I think this started with 5.0- they enabled the second sdi connector.
We also are just wrapping a feature finish in Symphony 444 RGB. 200- PER STREAM So a dissolve needs 400 in bursts, if you will, sometimes even more with a real-time key.
Don't know how Alphadogs handles it, but our first-gen terrablock isn't fast enough because of the 2 gig fibre, so I have a local MAXX EVO raid on the symphony. I always run AJA system test on the raid before working- something in the OS or raid software bogs the drive speed down too slow when the systems been running a long time (Mac), requiring a reboot.
Hopefully we'll see dnxhd 444 when MC 6 comes out. Also, you can (not sure if this is official) AMA prores444, but I've found that to be a little glitchy.
