I think you have to be careful about market share numbers. Those are like damn lies and statistics. Apple always mentions users and market share for FCP, but in fact those numbers always include ALL versions of FCPro, FCStudio and FCExpress. By that measure, Avid's numbers should include the Pinnacle (now Avid Studio - cough) numbers as well (for a fair comparison), because it's the same market segments.
I'm sure FCP proper outsells MC, but as a contribution to the bottom line of each company, the differences might not be as far apart as the PR would lead one to believe.
