RE: [Avid-L2] Red AMA EDL data

 

We had exactly this problem and it's a real pain...

The only way we figured to do it was to modify the tape name column so that
it matched the file name whenever there was something in the tape name
column. If there is no tape name then it will go to the file name anyway.
This is a manual copy and paste for each clip I'm afraid.

Plus once you have done all this EDL manager might still come up with
errors. The way around this was to break the timeline into 2 halfs.

Oh and use the red_16 template...

It's not quick but it will work!

I'm not at my Avid at the moment, but I seem to recall a column that retains
that data.

Select a bin (make sure it's in Text View) then go to Bin Menu
Bin Menu > Headings (or Choose Columns, depending on your version of MC) >
Click the All / None button to select ALL.
See if there is any useful info in one of the columns.
