You might be right. And on further thought I think it might have been a
Panasonic deck that gave me the option of which field to use? Or maybe I am
imagining that part entirely.

So now I'm curious - is it repeatable? If you swap the tapes around a few
more times, is that same tape still going to stop on the other field?
