Because in actually practice, we don't see a significant hit in
subjective picture quality, and we work with very tight deadlines
so fast turn around is a huge plus. Having said that, though, I
will say that we bring in most of our AVCHD material the
old-fashioned way -- playing the footage and digitizing straight
into the Avid via HDSDI. That's not an option though, if you're
software only...
