[Avid-L2] Re: premier conform

Just been there and tried that. Nightmare!

Project was V 4 premier so we moved OT to a new V5 system. Very unstable on client system (crashing locking up) better on new V5 setup but still not great. Needed media as well so we consolidated on premier and did and AAF (I think or AFE) to Avid. New seq didn't match premier created consolidated clips as it modified media names and not clip names. No better in FCP.
Tried for many hours and eventually had to go with flattened QT output and cut up via EDL in Avid.
Had hoped titles would come across but they don't.
Even the OMFI to the sound dub was crippled by the handles in the media being included in the actual clips in the timeline so the dub clips where slowly slipping out of sync as the prog duration progressed. So the Protools session required manual trimming of each clip back into sync.
My advice is if you are in Premier then finish in it completely otherwise it nothing but tears.
