[Avid-L2] best way to avoid scale lines

I have a 1280x720 seq going to SDdvd. I get a very nice encode using Sorenson or Encore (thanks for all the tips on this list) but getting some of those nasty scaling lines on some zooms.
They are not really bad, but wondering if I can get rid of them all together. Should I pick a different size in the encode process? Any tips on getting rid of these? I see the lines mostly on the stills I zoom in on in the piece. Normally I encounter this when I have a DV project in Avid and a few titles get rendered to 1:1 and so the whole comp then gets exported at 720x486 in the QT ref. I don't catch it and make the dvd and see the lines. As soon as I get the timeline entirely to DV format, it exports as such and the problem solved. But in this case, not sure where to do the fix.

thanks
