[Avid-L2] MC5 on MacBook Pro fails to launch

I have MC 5.0.3.7 on a MacBook Pro (10.6.5). If I restart the Mac before launching MC, all is good. If I've been using other applications beforehand, even if I quit all or log out and log in, I get an error which pops up when initialising the Audio Plugins. Error reads (in part): Exception: AMPI subsystem error, Errormessage: DSM future error from client eDSMError_Exception: Assertion in "DSM_Transport.cpp", line 119 (err=60). I have to 'OK' at which point MC quits.

Needless to say, this is not consistent (just tried it now with several other apps running and it launched fine). Was the same with MC 5.0.3.5. Any ideas out there? And Iappy New Year!

With best wishes.
