it's literally in the system > library > Quicktime folder. The codec
I have is called QuickTimeMPEG2.component and it's from 2006.

Pretty sure I paid for it, otherwise I'd be happy to share it... but,
that's what worked for me if you're looking for that component.

Ho did I feel about finding it? Embarrassed I asked before looking.
