Coupla thoughts. (stepping in to this thread late, forgive any missed
information)

A) Did you try both of the image stabilization effects? I think there
are two: Stabilize and Region Stabilize. I would use Region Stabilize
instead of Stabilize.

A2) possibly limit the area being analyzed in region stabilize. Make
sure that this thing that it's analyzing doesn't move, for example,
don't have it analyze someone's eyes, because they will move
separately from the face. Pick a mole or something that is absolutely
stable, like a foot on the ground that doesn't shift. Hard to say
without looking at the footage.

B) You're being overly picky. This is video, not rocket surgery. :-)

C) If you want to be a picky rocket surgeon, try Mocha running in
After Effects.

D) If you don't want to mess with Mocha, which is a phenomenal motion
tracker, see B.

E) Tell your client that the breathing is a creative choice to add
life to the image.
