[Avid-L2] Was: MC 5 Smart Tool. Now possible deletion bug.

I picked up this with 4.0.5.6, working with PAL 25P clips with the
project format set to 25i. I popped a Q on the ACI-L (for Avid
instructors) but nobody responded. What combination of clip formats do
you have? I just tried this with 5.0 (again a 25P clip in a 25i format
sequence) and I find the following: With linking off, if I select a
video segment with the red Lift/Overwrite button and hit Delete, I get
the 'Are you sure you want to delete the selected tracks?' message. If
I turn linking on, and select a video segment and its associated
audio, the audio is deleted when I hit Delete but the video segment
remains. On a Mac. Anyone else see this?

Generally I am starting to get used to the Smart Tool and rather than
just switching it off and carrying on before I am incorporating into
my workflow.

I have mapped the toggle Smart Tool to my Mouse Scroll Wheel Button
and toggle Link Selection to Shift Scroll Wheel Button, this seems to
work well for me.

However, one change i have noticed that has messed with my head a
little. If I select a clip with the Red Lift clip and hit delete in MC
4 the clip would just get deleted and leave everything else in the
timeline as it was now in MC5 if I do this it acts like an extract
clip and pulls the rest of that track out of sync. This has got to be
a bug or am I missing something? It has caught me out quite alot in
the last few days wondering why my sequence has gone all out of sync!
