[Avid-L2] Re: one NTFS drive not read by Mac, but another one is?

I recently had a Maxtor FW drive that I could mount on my prechrome Imac OS 10.4.11 and I could see the avidmediafiles folder and the mxf folder but not the #1 folder inside. On my MBP 10.5.8 I could see the #1 folder and all the files inside, go figure. I took it too my pc and copied to another pc drive and brought that to the Imac and it worked. I find it curious I could see the other folders but not inside the mxf folder. Sounds like some kind of permission thing but I'm not sure. Your problem sounds like maybe there is a slight chip set incompatibility. I've had enclosures that wouldn't work on FW but the USB or ESata connections did. I always figured there was some sort of chip set/version problem but never found a definitive answer.

Ultimately, I copied the contents off of the client drive onto my own NTFS drive, then plugged that one into my Mac and copied the files - my mac and PC are no longer networked, in case anyone is wondering.
