Reading through the thread I think this is what you folks need to know...
1. Production Suite
The Production Suite has been updated for the v5/v9 release.
- Boris Continuum Complete v6.0.7 Universal Mac and WINDOWS
- Avid FX v5.8 Universal Mac and Windows
- Sorenson Squeeze v6 Universal Mac and PC
- Avid DVD by Sonic v6.1.1 for PC –
- SmartSound Sonicfire Pro v5.5.2 Universal Mac and PC
The Third Party products are not included in the software web download upgrades, or on the Avid Download Center. Any Production Suite updates for existing customers (pre v5/v9) will need to be handled directly with the Third Party vendors.
Customer can opt to purchase a new Production Suite on the web store as well.
2. Upgrade Pricing

3. MC v5 eligibility
Any that bought a new MC v4, Symphony v4 or NewsCutter v8 or an upgrade to MC v4, Symphony v4 or NewsCutter v8 between 4/12/10 and 6/10/10 is eligible for a free downlaod on MC v5, Symphony v5 or NewsCutter v9 if they register the v4/v8 product.
Avid will again have the verion protection site available on June 10th for folks in this group. An Avid email will be sent to those that fall into this category with the protection site URL and instructions.
