May be unrelated, but...

I've hit incompatible RTAS plug-ins that were already installed by other (non-Avid) audio software installations. There should be a Digidesign plug-ins folder in Application Support (on a Mac) which has the RTAS filters. For now, it should only have those that are installed by the MC5 installer. No other RTAS filters have been qualified. Some others may work, but it's not guaranteed.

The word from Avid is that it's up to the individual companies to test their RTAS filters as being certified for MC5.
