[Avid-L2] OT: Mac OS10.6.3 Heat

Updated OSX to 10.6.3 a few weeks ago on my MBP in preparation for
installing MC5.

Have been experiencing severe heat issues. The computer heats up to the
point that it freezes up, sometimes as may as 4 or 5 times a day. I've
reinstalled the OS with no improvement. The only thing that's made any
difference is installing a fan hack, and speeding the cooling fans up.

This is all over the Apple discussion boards, but I haven't seen any
good solutions. Anyone else run into this, and what did you do about
it? I'm about to go back to 10.5 .
