RE: [Avid-L2] Incorrect tape names in AFE

Maybe they are confusing different things. The bin name is irrelevant I
think and so is the clip name. Possibly he has changed one of these 2 and
not actually the tape name which is a bit harder to change..

Subject: [Avid-L2] Incorrect tape names in AFE

Hi guys, I'm conforming an AFE from MC into DS and it has a couple of
issues.
When the assists from the Prod Co digitised a couple of tapes they got the
names wrong and then corrected the names at 'some later stage'.
On DS I have a several clips that state they come from tape 6740a. If the
assists match-frame the same clip back to the bin on MC it states that it
comes from tape 6741. This is the MC timeline from which the AFE was made.
So. where is the error? What did the MC guys do wrong?
To recap, on MC it was digitised as tape y, then that was changed at some
time to tape x. Then an AFE was created. The AFE/DS still says it comes from
tape y.
The assist said "I match-frame back to the bin, and the bin is called the
correct number and it says the correct tape numbers for the clips". I've
asked them for the bin so's I can take a look myself but in the mean time I
wondered if any of yooz guyz might have a suggestion..
I know little of MC's media management so I can't advise them how to fix it
and what to do differently in the future without advice.
Thanks in advance,
Tone :)
