the Assist, who really is just learning, and for that matter, pulling
double duty, between his normal day job here, and what they're asking
him to help out with, somehow captured an entire show of "media
Offline" clips.
After 9 hrs of rebuilding directories, re-Decomposing sequences with
all sorts of different variations, about every way to re-link known to
man, and about an hour and a half on the phone with a really helpful
guy at Avid, I sent him a, afe and a clip.
The Avid Support guy, Adam, loaded it up in DS, and sure enough, there
was a media COmposer Style Offline clip.
So. how does Symphony (the only Avid in the building) output a media
offline signal, and then capture the same signal back into itself. at
the same time? a framestore somewhere in the route from the deck to
the symphony is my guess. along with an assistant that isn't up to
speed on all things avid. although, he did a good job on the first 4
shows and the one following this one..
And the Moral of the story is??
Use DS from now on.
:-)
