Re: [Avid-L2] OT: Corrupted jpegs

Joe,

Was the card formatted prior to taking the pix? It should be every time.
Are we sure they are jpg and not raw files???
What does the EXIF data tell you? Does it appear to be accurate?

It has been years (decades?) since I have dealt with this. I am assuming
you had no joy on trying to obtain the deleted files from the card.

Option A -Open a similar good jpg using a text editor and print off the
header info for reference. Open copies of the bad jpegs and see if the
header is damaged. Try a manual repair.
If the header seems to be alright move along nothing to see here. Oh
wait ... that is the source of irritation. Sorry about that Chief.

Option B - Try a recovery tool. The last time I used one was on a Mac
prior to OSX so I have no experience with current software.

Good luck,
