Re: [Avid-L2] Hp xw8400 max ram?

4 GB is the max on a 32-bit OS. With 64-bit "theoretically" you could go to
16 exabytes.

According to HP,
(_http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c00712281&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=101&prodSeriesId=1844968&prodTy
peId=12454_

2454) )

* 8 DIMM Expansion Slots
* 667 MHz DDR2 registered ECC FB-DIMMs Supported
* 32 GB (8 FB-DIMM slots with 4 GB DIMMS) Maximum
this machine supports

According to Crucial,
(_http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=xw8400_ (http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=xw8400) )
* Maximum Memory: 32768MB
* Slots: 8 (4 banks of 2)
* Standard Memory: 1024MB removeable
* USB Support: 2.x Compliant
* Installed in pairs of modules.

Does that answer your question?
