This has come up several times.
Yes, it will work, no you don't want it, as version will drift apart in
terms of supported OS /QT version.
Carbon Clone Copier is free, very easy to use so you can create two
partitions in no time.
Have two, as long as it works, use just one. When versions drift, it's easy
to install on the other and update that to needs.
