Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Oh joy

I'm sure lots of us would be happy to offer a review. My very short one goes a little like this...

While visually arresting, the story is pure hack work. Among other things, it cannibalizes "Dances With Wolves" and a dozen other films. To his credit, Cameron uses a light touch in how he applies the 3D. And while I fully acknowledge the ground-breaking way in which the movie was made, I can't help but feel like it looked like really, really, really good game animation.

Is it the cinema watershed that the hype machine is heralding? No. Is it a fun night at the movies? Yes. Is it a game changer? Unknown.

I heard that was a $12-15 premium. But have had no time to see it.
