I don't think anybody would say that piracy is "okay". What I'd
consider is maybe the long-term benefit of people getting to know and
using your software.

Lots of people pirate Photoshop, but when they make money using it,
they buy it. Pros will buy software. But they'll buy the software they
have used before they were pros.

Maybe I'm naive, but I think turning a blind eye towards guys like
(the obviously braindead) Youtube kid might benefit Avid as a company
more than cracking down on him.
