Re: [Avid-L2] Dpx import?

This may be obvious, but if you are sending either DPX of TIFF over
the web, make sure to compress the files as a zip or rar. You should
get a very high compression ratio. Obviously it won't get you
anywhere as small of a file as if it was a compressed video codec like
DNXHD, but it will be vastly smaller than if you didn't compress.

If the Tiffs are uncompressed (on the image encoding level) they will
be larger than the DPX, however if they are compressed with LZW
compression they will be significantly smaller.

As far as color space, be careful about if your code values are full
range 0-1024 or limited to 64-940...

As you suggested, I agree it would be better if they can just convert
to high quality quicktime on their end to ensure there is no
unpleasantness in the conversion.
