[Avid-L2] Title oddities

Mac MCS 3.5 on OS 10.5.6, hooked to an Adrenaline box.

When rendering Titles made with the Title Tool, and even Marquee,
we're getting all kinds of errors that say something like
"Exception: Couldn't create unique filename."

Plenty of disk space, tried trashing media databases, tried
switching users, tried OMF media and MXF media creation for
renders. Often seems to be triggered by rendering a crawling
title, and from then on no title will render without the error,
even after restarting. Put the offending sequence into the play
monitor and edit into a new empty sequence, and you can render
again -- until you hit the problem and get another Exception error.

Any one else see this? Or even better, solve this? Google has not
been my friend on this one, leaving me high and dry.

TIA
