I believe you are right. But, as we see with the i7, Intel needs to make up their Atom losses somewhere. So if it's true, there's a market there with ANY codec... just hang it off a SAN and forget it. XGrid in a box - no networking or latency issues. BLUE ICE was too slow and limited by nature (effects processing is actually many different types of computations, not just blurs) but this uses programmable processing units and should be able to be loaded with a certain codec at the start of every job. At least, that's the potential.

We'll see - I was wrong about the NVIDIA separate graphics processor box for AE....

Well, most likely, CPU's will be able to pull this off soon as well, won't

they? That's the thing with these accelerators, isn't it?
