You can build a mac-only workflow for finishing (FCP + Nuke + Smoke).
You can tell your clients you have "a Smoke". You can apparently save
a few bucks.

Avid should now quickly release DS Soft as an official product, enable
VTR I/O for the Aja, and price it at USD 12k.

Or just roll over.
