The real reason is because management at Adobe refuse to understand how
pitiful Premiere really is. As long as they are selling suites, that's all
they care about. They laid off many of who I think are the smart ones and
kept some who I consider KEY to holding Premiere back, but let me reiterate
this is my opinion. (Adobe just laid off 9% of their work force and moved
the Encore and On Location development to China). I tried to live with
Prem, but it is impossible in a serious deadline driven environment. When I
had Adobe's ear, I spent far too much of my time having to defend
professional work flows to the home video mentalities. (How frustrating!!!)
If it just worked half as good as they claim, it would make a great
solution. But, it doesn't. If you are doing extremely simple, then it
*might* be a pleasant experience for you.

They do have some great ideas. If they could get Prem solidified... I don't
understand why someone doesn't take advantage of their "copy and paste"
mechanism to be able to copy and paste from Avid or FCP.

We are looking forward to Smoke on Mac. Bring it on.

Cheers,
Timothy
