[Avid-L2] Amazing Functionality on Mac Network with MCSoft

I'm just amazed and I know it all makes sense but wow.  While doing a digital cut to digibeta on my SNDX 3.5.4 I wanted to print out the slate.  I logged into my edit mac pro tower with my MacBook Pro laptop.  Using the administrator login for the edit computer I now have access to the edit computer AND any hard drives that are mounted from the SanMP.  I drag a copy of the sequence to my laptop desktop and open MCSoft and open the copy of the sequence bin so I can recreate the slate title and print from my laptop.  But wait, all the media is accessible on my laptop, in a word WOW.  I can even play the sequence on my laptop while the digital cut on the main computer is uninterrupted.

As if this isn't impressive enough I did all this while I tunes was running pirate cat radio from S.F. on a stream, my pinniacle HD stick is playing OTA HD from channel 4 off a magnetic base antenna that came with it stuck on a light fixture on the ceiling, Firefox is running and Adobe Updater launched itself and is updating Premiere Pro etc.. in the back ground.  I'm sure if I tried to output off my MCSoft I'd probably hit some wall but the implications are staggering to me.  Who needs ISCSI for the producer laptop with this set up.  Producer logs into my edit computer over the gig ethernet and if he has MCSoft bang he can really play along.  Did I mention to set all this stuff up I turned on my laptop and plugged in the ethernet cable, whew I'm exhausted.  The Wifi is iffy for Internet here so I always use hard wire but I'm curious how that might play out.  Hmmmmm I see more tests in my future.
