As I'm sure most people are aware, Avid's best practices recommend that
Avids not be connected to the Internet.
How are people handling Windows Updates on their Avids? Are they
downloading tested updates posted on the Best Security Practices guide
onto a flash drive and loading them manually one by one, are people
leaving their systems connected to the Internet, or are people just not
keeping their systems connected to the Internet and skipping updates
completely?
We went through a considerable process here with our Network Operations
people to block internet access on two out of our three systems so far.
I want to patch the computers if needed, but not having the systems
connected to the Internet is definitely a challenge.
Any thoughts on this? Thanks for any feedback you can provide.
