His Twitter is @adamjsalazar. Editors should let them know what they think of "producers" who think it's cool not to pay editors.

Re: [Avid-L2] Blu-Ray Burning

I don't know, have not touched Encore since i had to pay for it again.
AFAIK Encore is end of life, and you need PP to get it.
But if you have it, and it works, why not use it?
TMPG is just plain easy to use, and fine for one-offs / screeners.
(It can do menu stuff, but have not dived into it yet, since i probably only need subtitles on/off.)

btw, creating your own M2TS and jack it into a Blu-ray player on a memory stick is for free....
(But not all players have USB ports)

Is this setup superior to Encore?

Dirt cheap, (usd 100) works well and brings it's own (fairly fast) encoder, as well as burning tool
(However, i made an ISO image and use IMGburn to go to Blu-Ray disc.

And, it accepts SubRip SRT files as input, my Subbits can generate them.

Note, the demo seems an older version than the paid version.
If you're not setup already, buy it, it's a no-brainer.

[Avid-L2] MC 7.0.2 - error when trying to uninstall [2 Attachments]

All,

Mac Book Pro (17", early 2011)
OS x 10.10.2
Avid MC 7.0.2

I am trying to uninstall MC 7.0.2 from my laptop so I can install 8.3.1.  When I try to run the uninstaller that came with 7.0.2, I get an error message (see attached screen grab).

When I try to uninstall using the uninstaller that came with 8.3.1, I get a different error msg (see attached screen grab).

I have tried restarting, redownloading the 8.3.1 installer, etc., but no joy.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

- Rich
