Out of curiosity has anyone installed MC 7.0.3 under OS X 10.8.5 and then subsequently updated to Mavericks 10.9.1? If so, was there any special procedure to follow with the MC installation? Does it need to be uninstalled and re-installed or can you simply update the OS?

Sounds like the quickest thing is start over cutting. It is a short so how many shots could it be. If the imports don't indicate clearly which prores file to look for the shot on and if the imports didn't carry over the time code it's tedious. Sometimes looking for the quick fix takes longer than the brute force approach of over cutting. Then again perhaps I don't know the whole picture here.

Now I have no idea how to get my sequence to recognize the original pro-res files. I've searched the Avid forums with no joy, and I need to conform for the colorist who wants it tomorrow, any help would be awesome.

Thanks for the suggestion. I called videoguys and had all of my questions answered and the order placed faster than I could I even find a page to try to search for the question on the avid site. And, my dongle did qualify for upgrade pricing.
thanks list and happy new year.

With a 3.5 dongle, you need to purchase the PRE 6.5 upgrade. It is $100 more than the regular 6.5 upgrade (in US).
Avid item# 9511-65497-00

Of course, a VAR should be able to give you this info quickly via phone.

Hi folks -
I'm trying to make a last minute end of year purchase of MC7 and i'm getting very frustrated trying to find some simple info on Avid's site.
I have an MC 3.5 dongle - I'm just wondering if this does anything for me as far as qualifying for upgrade pricing (I don't expect it but would love to confirm).
Also I'm purchasing to install on a system I won't have access to for a week or so. So I would just like to confirm that I can purchase today and if there's anything tricky here if that makes sense.
I'm sorry to clog the list with this but Avid's site is impossible and Marianna is on vacation. Thanks for your help!
