Ok, now it is tested, and improved, and available to toy:

Info (as on the page):
Proof of concept to transcode growing MXF files.
(Read, have a Youtube / client approval file ready at the SAME TIME your
MXF export is done.)
a bit more in depth:
If you want to transcode a file that is still in the making (eg you want
to be home in time, as if...)
you could try exporting to MXF Op1A.
These files can be transcoded even if they are not finished.
Now, that was always the case, but when the transcode is faster than the
MXF export, the encoder would stop.
This is what's new.
This thing will stall when / if it catches up with a growing file. So if
the transcode is faster than your export, no worries, nothing bad will
happen. It will only mean that your transcode is done (nearly) at the
same time as your export!
It's currently fixed at using 1/4 of your cores. (You con't want to slow
down the MXF export /render too much.)
It ONLY works on MXF, and the ONLY flavour tested is XDcam Op1a (that
has 8 discrete channels, where 1 will be left, 2 will be right, the rest
is omitted.)
Now, this is still 'Proof of concept'
If needed, I can alter the app. to speed up the encoding, either by
doing a more sloppy encode (meaning, same quality but bigger files), or
take more of the CPU available.
How to operate:
Run the app. and pick a watchfolder where you have / going to have your
MXF files.
It will then proces all files in the watch folder you set, but it
'remembers' them. If you remove an Mp4 after it is done, it will NOT
redo it unless you restart the app.
As a bonus, you get my logo burned into the output Mp4!
Now, to make this workable, I appreciate input on what more to add.
Other codecs? Keep TC? Burn in TC? De-Interlace? Scale?
As it is, output is stereo, Mp4 is 'fast start' (Meaning, if you put it
online it will play without having to be downloaded fully), quality is
good and file size is fairly small.
