Subject: [Avid-L2] Script sync / Phrasefind - what's happening?

Avid MC is still my favorite app for pure editing. But I am using Premiere Pro more and more and finding a lot to like about it as Adobe keeps making improvements to it.

So one of the main reasons that MC remains my "go to" is Scriptsync & Phrasefind. I do primarily dialog driven long form work (docs, corporate, educational) and SS/PF have been great tools for my work flow.

On my work station I have moved to MC 8.3 which of course has script based editing but no SS/PF.

I have held my laptop at 7.0.2, mainly so I can use it to do Scriptsync phonetic indexing. But still no PF on 8.3, and the SS work flow requires two machines - it is a kludge and I won't be able to limp along with this much longer.

So Avid, what the f is going on? No communications (that I have seen). Anybody on the -L have any hint about whether SS/PF are going to be dropped from MC for good? Or am I being too pessimistic?

Grumpily yours,

- Rich
