Re: [Avid-L2] backing up each day

 

If you're running in a PC environment I've always used robocopy:
(http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=17657)

It's a dos based command and probably the most complicated on there ever
has been but the command:

robocopy "<originating folder>" "<destination folder>" /e /r:1 /w:1
/a-:a /xd

(use quotes if your paths have spaces in ie. "D:\Avid MediaFiles" rather
than just Avid MediaFiles)

That will initially copy everything, then it will power through the
drive and only copy new stuff.

Works a treat for me, pop it in a batch file and make it a scheduled
task and you can almost forget about it.
