I find FCP 7's internal scaler subpar. You are better off using other applications (Compressor, FCP X, AE, Motion, Avid, etc.) to do the job.

I am starting a show that was shot at 720 and selects reels made in FCP (yikes). I am going to open in FCP and export the selects reels as clips and import or AMA to my Avid. Should I scale to 1080 on the export to ProRes or should I scale on the AMA transcode into my Avid? Is one a better quality that the other?
thanks
