Yeah tell that to the ABC crew behind Spike Gate where a few complaints of Granny's watching on their old CRTs with set top converter boxes complained of white lines or some such thing at the top of the letter box. IIRC at the Tektronix demo at a previous Editor's Lounge the studies still showed something like 80% of all programming delivered in HD is still viewed in an SD environment in the US. I find that hardly irrelevant but I'm more interested in interlace artifacts etc.... that might display differently on a CRT. Heck the old 32 inch makes a great space heater if nothing else.
