A few things to consider...
upgrade resolve to 9 (free upgrade and they had a lot of fixes).
When resolve renders the footage make sure its on avid round trip settings.
You don't need the AAF from resolve all you need is the resolve rendered
footage.
Also consider upgrading your avid software as the latest has many new tools
for relinking.
As a solution for now your colorist can export one video file that is the
entire show instead of round trip seperate files. Until the latest versions
of Resolve and Avid that used to be the work flow.
I am using the latest and it round-trip like a champ.
