You can do this with DaVinci Resolve or Adobe SpeedGrade, although Resolve is free and writes MXF media. Pomfort also has on-set LUT creation and media management tools (Silverstack SET) designed specifically for Alexa. As far as doing something with Avid directly from the files, look into Glue Tools. I think Job has used this route, where it embeds a LUT using an ICC profile.

I think Pomfort also has a calculator app for sale. You might also want to check out Digital Heaven's Videospace calculator.
One thing on DNxHD recording. It is a paid option for Alexa owners, so your camera(s) may or may not be configured with this capability. You should also figure out how you are doing the finishing/conform/DI. ProRes4444 may or may not be preferable.
One other option, depending on what the production company wants to buy and whether or not the DP will accept tethering. The Alexa can record simultaneous on-board and external signals. You could add an external recorder to the mix, such as a Sound Devices PIX240. Record Log C ProRes4444 to the camera's SxS cards, while simultaneously recording the SDI output (with the 709 LUT applied to the stream by the camera) to the external recorder in any flavor of DNxHD that you like. This gives you ProRes4444 LogC camera "digital negative" files for DI/conforming, as well as edit-ready files straight from the set in one single step.
