Glad to know it's not just me. My second battery just failed on my 2007 laptop, and I'm about to go to my third.

I will say that I really enjoy the Apple laptops. Nevertheless, the current 15"
MBP I own has a terrible battery design. I'm on the fourth in its life of 4
years. The previous PowerBook G4 was much better than that. Same battery for 4
years. That's probably more of a Sony problem than an Apple one.
I've gone to strictly using an iPad during travels and it's far, far better in
most cases. Plus, you can pass it through airport x-ray without having to hassle
with a laptop in the security line.
For real work, on the road, a Mac Mini might actually be the ideal solution down
the road. I rarely need battery power on location gigs and it's usually pretty
easy to get external monitoring depending on how the job is spec'ed.
