Have been freelancing on Premier Pro. For the most part, I'm very happy with it - until today.
Today I was asked to finish, tweak, color correct, and otherwise polish an hour long sequence that
someone else did. PAINFUL. The response time is awful. Horrible. Almost unusable.
I finally ended up breaking the program down into 10 minute sequences and just working on each one
individually, otherwise it was just unworkable.
This is CS4. If they haven't gotten that fixed, Premier Pro is definitely NOT the FCP Killer that
everyone is saying it is. Maybe for news - but definitely not for anything longer form. For
anything over 10 minutes it's junk. I want to go back to my Avid. It doesn't care how long the
sequence is.
