[Avid-L2] Re: replacing stock shots with masters

 

In my experience, you need to over-cut the footage. Meaning, manually cut in the master footage.  The final master you order might differ in length from the temp shot, or the timecode will be different, so you can't just BATCH IMPORT and have it all work.  Pond5 stuff can tend to be the same length, but others won't be.  Also, if you have multiple frame rates, you need to import that in a project with a matching frame rate (if on 8.3 or under) and then bring that bin into the main project, and then manually replace, because a RELINK won't do it. The metadata and clip name won't match.


In my many years of online, if the footage didn't come from tape, I've had to manually replace it in the timeline.
