I don't think there is any real difference between an actual Ver 7 upgrade and just paying 299 for an annual support contract which will allow you to upgrade to Ver. 7 from and previous version or to Ver 8 if you so desire. This is what I am doing. I had thought there would be a problem with New Blue Titler version 1 over version 2 but it appears my media composer perpetual license support allows me New Blue Titler Vers. 1 and my 2 symphony cross grades allow New Blue Titler Ver. 2. sorenson and BCC are light versions but my current BCC8 will work in Ver. 7 and Ver 8 so I'm told. I will just keep using my current sorenson that came with my symphony V 6/6.5 upgrade too.
I guess if the Ver 7 Update gives you full versions of the 3rd party that would be a reason. I did try to get an upgrade to 7 but I missed the deadline by one day for the upgrade that would have also allowed me access to V. 8. Oh well resistance is futile, the next thing they'll tell me OKI DOGS ARE PEOPLE and I will now have to Rent to Rent my Avid or should it be Support to Support my Avid. I guess the devil I know is better than the one I don't.
